New iolo Software Offers Hassle-Free PC Tuneup, Advanced Registry Repair

June 26, 2008 by priolo

iolo technologies has launched System Mechanic 8, the latest release of its best selling PC tuneup utility.

Version 8 introduces ActiveCare 2.0: A patent-pending technology that automatically tunes a PC while it’s on but not in use. ActiveCare runs in the background without creating drag on a system, taking up RAM, or interrupting the user with schedulers and pop-up messages.

Two other major new features are a registry repair tool that graphically displays and then removes RAM-hogging bloat and fragmentation that remain when a registry is cleaned of errors, and DriveSense, which visually reports the data from up to 46 SMART sensors on the hard drive and alerts the user to potential hard drive problems.

Minor improvements include:

  • New navigation within System Mechanic let you perform most tasks with fewer clicks.
  • iolo’s application library now targets more programs that slow the startup process.
  • System Mechanic 8 inherits your Windows Vista theme for an integrated look and feel.

ABOUT SYSTEM MECHANIC

System Mechanic is a dedicated PC tuneup utility designed to keep a computer in peak operating condition. The software combines over 40 powerful tools in a single console, fixing and maintaining a PC automatically.

All computers slow down with use as their owners install and uninstall software, add and delete files, and perform any of the normal activities that leave file remnants, fragmented drives, registry conflicts, and system errors that degrade PC performance.

While Microsoft Windows includes basic utilities that clean up junk files and organize hard drive space, System Mechanic goes far beyond these simple programs in power, scope, and thoroughness, resulting in sustained PC performance close to the level of a computer just out of the box.

Currently used by 19 million customers worldwide and trusted for more than a decade, System Mechanic consistently receives rave reviews and major industry awards, including Laptop Magazine Editor’s Choice of 2008, CNET Editor’s Choice, and Computer Shopper’s Best Utility of 2007.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

Current subscribers will receive System Mechanic 8 for free. For everyone else, the software is available for $49.95 US in 18,000 retail stores, including Best Buy, Fry’s, Target, Wal-Mart, and Costco, from etailers like Buy.com, and directly from iolo.com. A single license can be installed on up to three PCs.

iolo technologies Launches New Corporate Website

April 2, 2008 by priolo

iolo technologies, a Los Angeles-based software company, has launched a redesigned corporate website, featuring upgrades to its home page and global navigation.

The new home page reflects iolo’s focus on PC Tune-up and offers fewer but clearer paths to popular pages on www.iolo.com.

Site content is organized in common-sense categories. Revamped global navigation makes it possible for customers to view any major page with a single click, and dropdown menus offer shortcuts to all product pages, free trials, tech support, and press information.

“We hope to guide customers to the right information faster,” said Peter Losh, E-Commerce Manager for iolo technologies. “Since only a handful of pages are responsible for most of our site traffic, we’re making it a little easier to find the links to those pages.”

The most-sought information on iolo.com resides in product detail and resource pages for System Mechanic and System Mechanic Pro, iolo’s award-winning PC care utilities. System Mechanic is a dedicated PC Tune-up product, while System Mechanic Pro adds several layers of data protection with anti-virus software, a powerful firewall, military-grade data destruction, and several other security tools.

February 21, 2008 by priolo

iolo technologies has started shipping System Mechanic 7.5, the latest version of its best-selling PC Tune-up software. The 7.5 update with brand new packaging is now available in more than 15,000 US retail stores.

Version 7.5 gives novice users a simplified “one button” fix for PC Tune-up. Advanced users can get even more out of their systems with over 70 PC Tune-up, repair, and maintenance tools.

iolo is offering this major update to current users for free. The new set of enhancements was such a success with critics, members of the press, and beta-testers that iolo CEO Noah Rowles felt it should be released at the earliest opportunity.

“Our customers are going to be treated to a significant product advancement,” Rowles said. “With this new version, we’re maintaining our position at the forefront of the rapidly evolving PC utility market, and diligently focusing on our roots as the maker of the number one product that completely rejuvenates, protects, and maintains even old, tired PCs and makes them run like new again.”
